Sweat Equity
When selected, you become a "partner family". As a partner family, you will be responsible for 250 hours of sweat equity. Sweat equity is mostly done on the construction sites. Most of it will be done helping to build other peoples' homes and finally your own home. On the construction site, you may be asked to help clear the land, build walls, paint, lay tile or many other things that need to be done to help build a quality affordable home. Up to 60 hours may be earned in the ReSTORE or in the Habitat offices helping with cleaning and various clerical tasks. 160 hours may be donated by friends and family or by work groups that you organize.
